Commercial framework
DotNaija operates through registrar and partner channels. An accepted quote, order, or signed pricing schedule supplies the actual price for the service. This policy explains how prices must be presented and administered; it is not a retail tariff.
A public lookup or an available label is not a price quotation. Request a current offer through your registrar or the Registrar Desk.
Information required before an order
| Item | What the quote or order must establish |
|---|---|
| Service | Registration, renewal, transfer, restoration, or another defined transaction. |
| Domain and period | Exact label, namespace, and term where applicable. |
| Amount | Charge and currency, including whether taxes are included. |
| Recurring cost | Renewal basis and any recurring premium charge. |
| Additional charges | Restoration, transfer, administrative, or other applicable fees. |
| Validity | Expiry of the offer and any conditions of acceptance. |
Ask for clarification before paying if a price or recurring charge is unclear. Retail registrar prices may differ from wholesale registry charges because they include different services and margins.
Standard and premium names
Standard transactions use the applicable channel schedule. A premium designation or individual allocation may require a separate quote under the Premium Domain Policy.
Reservation, a premium classification, or payment does not remove eligibility checks. The registry record and successful transaction confirmation establish the registration.
Payment and settlement
Payment must follow the method, currency, due date, and beneficiary specified by the invoicing party. Registrar credit, deposits, prefunding, and settlement windows exist only where expressly agreed.
Keep the invoice and transaction reference. Do not send payment credentials through a support or abuse form. Disputed or duplicate transactions should be reported with the relevant references.
Renewals, expiry, and restoration
Confirm the current renewal amount and complete renewal before expiry. Renewal prices may differ from the initial registration offer. A promotion does not extend to later renewals unless the offer says so.
Restoration, where available, may carry a separate charge and a limited window. Neither payment after expiry nor a pending billing enquiry guarantees recovery of a deleted or reallocated name.
Taxes and currency conversion
The invoicing party identifies applicable taxes and levies. Bank fees or currency conversion imposed by a payment provider may be separate. Obtain a tax invoice where needed and raise errors with the issuer.
DotNaija does not publish an implied exchange-rate guarantee. The accepted transaction terms determine the currency in which the amount is due.
Refunds, credits, and cancellations
Refunds and credits follow the accepted agreement and rights provided by mandatory law. A completed registry transaction, voluntary cancellation, suspension, or expiry does not automatically qualify for a refund.
Where a transaction fails, the parties reconcile whether any service was completed and what amount should be refunded or credited. Start a request with the invoicing party, quoting the domain, transaction, amount, date, and reason.
Price changes and disputes
Changes apply from the communicated date under the relevant notice provisions. An accepted order is treated according to its terms; future renewals or new orders may use a later schedule. Urgent tax or legal changes are explained where they affect a charge.
Raise unresolved registry-related discrepancies through the contact desk, attaching transaction evidence with sensitive payment details removed. Commercial disagreements do not authorise abuse, unauthorised transfer, or evasion of registry controls.
